Attsa ma boy!

As Monty last spilled the beans on me, we are now in Virginia. We're parked in my son, Bruce's, driveway until his son, Matt graduates from high school later this month. Bruce was caught in the act of studying up earlier today. Although he ain't too much for book larnin', this book was pretty good for him, 'cause it had a lot of big pictures.

So, the next time you drop your car off at the shop to have work done on it, and they say they have their best man on it... now you know what really is goin' on.

Bruce has about 25 years experience and is a certified senior master technician at Jerry's Ford in Leesburg, Virginia.

I took advantage of him last week, and had him set up my differentials with new 5.13:1 gears for the Trail Limo. I needed them badly, because with the lift and 35" tires I wasn't able to run in overdrive most of the time. With the new gears I am running at a much better engine speed on the highway and I can go up most gradual hills without shifting out of overdrive. Much better. Bruce did a fantastic job on the install. There is less gear noise than there was with the factory gears, and they run nice and smooth.

Other than "chillin" at Bruce and Donna's, we have done a few side trips. We went to the Delaware shores a week ago, and did some crabbing for the fabled blue crabs in the bay by Ocean City, Maryland. We also picked up caches in Maryland and Delaware. That brings our states count up to 13 states we have found caches in and a total count of 270 caches found. We're not anywhere near the volume of a lot of people, but we do a lot of other activities besides caching, you know.

Yesterday, we went to the Air and Space Museum by Dulles Field. It is fairly new, and is a huge hanger with many aircraft displayed. This collection displays planes in the Smithsonian Collection. I've been to the Air and Space Museum in the Smithsonian in Washington, DC and the collection there includes all the most famous aircraft the US has. When you first walked in the DC Air and Space Museum, you are looking at the Kittyhawk Flier, the Spirit of St. Louis, and the Lunar Landing module. It is pretty impressive. This collection has some pretty famous planes in it, also. It has the Enola Gay (B25 bomber that dropped the bomb on Hiroshima, the last SR71 (worlds fastest fighter jet at 2,125 mph) and the Endeavor (which was a space shuttle model used to test the feasability of landing a shuttle on dry land before the "real" shuttles did their famous space flights.

Beyond those trips, a little shopping and driving around, and we be chillin' here in Virginee. Next up, we will head out and check some of the sites in the area, like the Hershey Chocolate factory in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Until then, enjoy life... we will!

Gil, Willa, and Monty
